November 2018
Ruby. True-to-type, expressed in Paulliac’s trinity of pencil lead, black currant and dried herbs. The finish is etched and sheet-metal brilliant. Now – 2024+.
April 2013
Intense, quite youthful ruby red color; only a trace of development at the rim belies its age. Aloof, concentrated, balanced nose: mineral-edged black and red fruit etched in compressed drawing charcoal. A diligent poise on the palate, clean and pure, full to medium-full: mulberry, black currant. Very good grip. Good class of tannin – they are ripe and quite firm. Low rendement here: still an element of solidity that will resolve. A proper Paulliac ‘goût de terroir’. This will still improve, more charm and generosity still to come forward. Now – 2024.
