Ruby.  The wine is solid, it has a thick trunk but as it opens out it gets more explicit, revealing Paulliac’s pencil lettering and calligraphy.  Cassis, wet sand and a latakia tobacco smokiness.  Beguiling and downright luscious for left bank ’98.  Now – 2025+.
