Marc Deschamps, Pouilly-Fumé ‘Les Champs de Cri’ 2012

Rosenthal Wine Merchant, New York NY.

From a sirloin parcel in old vines (60+ years) in Les Loges.  Soil here is terres blanches (Kimmeridgian marl).  Raised in wood.

Emerald.  A breath of late spring, past the peak of blossoms when it all starts to leaf out.  The tones go less to grass and gooseberry and more to limes and leaves, with the metallic purity of a great riesling.  A Sauvignon for the cellar, just expect something different in the coming decade.  Now – 2030.
