Château Pichon-Longueville Baron, Paulliac 1996

Bordeaux Wine Locators, Rainer WA.

Ruby. The nose is centred around mocha and cedar notes. It shows beef broth, fine herbs, fluid liqueur fruit, and suggests many layers before you reach its heart. Has gras in abundance, offers a caress of cassis fruit, with oak in the second rank. The palate spreads its oily richness with precise reach; it is all wrapped together, there’s velvet in the tannins. The finish reflects the graphitic side of Paulliac. Now – 2030+.
