Lopez de Heredia, Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja 2001

Carmine. Telltale secondary notes of medicine, blood, and leaf decay. There’s a graceful curve to the nose, shows mulberry and sloe density, and a discreet ripe sweetness that will please. It has fine grip with good spring and the wine’s sucrosity does not mask the freshness in the tannins. The fruit is prolonged, has a winning appeal, and it extends in a savory fashion. The finish positively reverberates in its oscillation of mineral and blue fruit. Still making its way. Now – 2040+.
