Yellow-gold. Shortbread biscuit and toasted hazelnut offer slightly torrified counterpoints to the vintage-typical sense of citrus, verbena, and zest. 7UP and rind-tinged lime play on a palate of sappy richness, while quarry dust, cordite, sel gris and otherwise ineffable mineral intimations play in the background. The finish extends on the wine’s spiny, animated personality. Shows fine Puligny typicity but in this vintage speaks more deeply to the bedrock beneath the soil than the fruit and flowers suspended above it. Now – 2025+.
