Domaine Bertagna, Vougeot Clos de la Perrière 1er Cru 2002 (monopole)

July 2022

Twenty years on.

Crimson. Really tacking now, it reminds me of ’01 with its spine, with ’02’s gras and winsome sweetness. It shows lots of details, holds its evolution without dryness, and the length is correct. Now – 2025+.

November 2012

Peter Weygandt and Metzler Importing, Unionville PA.

Ten years on.

Crimson. Tight-grained, long-lined and still corseted in tannin. The fruit has a fine interior, with something savory quietly shifting under the silver gurgle of acidity. Hedgeflower, caramalized parsnip, myrtille with its seed and pit. Saline at the end. Now – 2025+.
