Domaine Billaud-Simon, Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru 2008

Fifteen years on.

Star bright yellow-green. The nose soars on a suite of fruit, maritime, and geologic sensations. The palate shows a steady evolution with a fine line of freshness all the way through. Intimations of lime oiliness emerge, spun sugar, high fruit, fundamental notes, and a vibrant lapidary stucture. It lengthens on stone fruit and a shrimp shell reduction savoriness, and finishes in crushed stone and quarry dust. Now – 2028+.
