Auguste Clape, Cornas 1985

Forty years on.

Mostly garnet with a plum red core. Starts off a little lavatorial but this blows off with air, shows more rusty pipe with mint and bay leaf contributors. Of medium weight and moderate fat, it’s vibrant, slightly rustic, raspberry fruited. Becomes more savory with some iron fillings, sorrel, and sweet game. Acidity provides the structure. Now.
