Maison Dominique Laurent, Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers 1er Cru 2005

Twenty years on.

Ruby. Has an inflexion from its oak. The cedar tones do lift, allowing a more composed, elegant fruit and flowers profile to emerge. With a couple hours of air, peony, aniseed, black raspberry airs circulate on the nose. The palate has a mulberry-cassis axis, tannins on tar-smoke. It’s active, more up front, and the tannins are settling in nicely. It could be more provocative, plays it safe in the modern vein given the source of these vines. Now – 2035+.

This wine is from Jacky Truchot’s Sentiers plot. Raised in barrel and finished by Dominque Laurent.
