Skin-contact Rosé from 100% Pinot Noir. Joint venture between winemaker Patrick Piuze from Chablis and Moutard from Champagne. No dosage.
A pale salmon. Linear, straightforward nose of boiled sweets, strawberry and Jonathan apple. Barb says, “watermelon Jolly-Rancher”. Nervy and dry, with good tension on the back-end. Of modest body and length. A welcome touch of minerality. Hale and winsome, if a bit simple. In our eyes, its proper Rosé color is probably its best attribute. These were disgorged March ’12; they should make out just fine through the summer months. For drinking soon.
