Saignée method Rosé.  70% Pinot Noir from Cumières; 30% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs.  20% of the wine raised in oak tuns without malolactic fermentation.  Aged for four years in Roederer’s cellars and left for six months after dégorgement.  Dosage: 10 g/l.

Fullish color.  Understated on entry, even a bit furtive, she unfolds masterly over two days, a gauzy revelation of wild strawberry, white rose, silvery herbs and toasted brioche.  Sweetly maturing fruit yet intriguingly savory at the end, her cucumber-saline finish both cooling and meticulous for such a drenched vintage.  Fine plus ultra, the road ahead of her opening up, stretching endlessly.  Now – 2020.
