Gardet, Brut Prestige Charles Millésimé Chigny-Les-Roses 2002

Gardet 2002

70% Chardonnay from Grand and premier cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs; 30% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims. No malo. Dosage: 8 g/l.

August 2015

Yellow-gold.  Less floral; toastier.  The finish is scrupulously dry.  Not a blockbuster.  Classic.  Now – 2022.

May 2015

Yellow-gold.  A vaporous ’02, the embodiment of all things springtime, lyric and floral and limey.  Fresh, high-flying autolysis flavors. The finish is tensile and piquant. Not as sappy as some from this vintage; she’s more an agent of renewal.  Now – 2022.

Gardet 2002 #1
