Domaine Guion, Bourgueil ‘Cuvée Domaine’ 2010

Ruby. Palate and nose run vertically, reflecting both vintage and the habitually upright style of the domaine. Smoky, perlitic debut opens out to purple flower, hedgerow fruit and its seed, bittersweet herbs, and capsicum. Has a jaunty side, upholstered with fulsome tannins and acidity, and works well as a clay-limestone wine in motion. Twinkle of greenbriar and lead pencil freshness at the end. Now – 2030.
