Domaine de la Vougeraie, Vougeot Clos du Prieuré Blanc (monopole) 2014

Tulip yellow. Generous ripe apple and lemon curd dominates the profile, accented by subtle tropical tones and the faintest hint of burnt sugar. The nose still feels youthful and expansive, showing only early signs of evolution. On the palate, the wine is sweetly fruited and well concentrated, with enough acidity to keep it balanced and energetic. There is an appealing softness and ease of drinking now, yet the structure and length suggest there is no urgency, and be well worth following over the next few years. Last bottle on a case. Now – 2030+.
