Green-gold. A richer, more ripe expression: this is more apples sautéed in butter. Capacious and a bit advanced. We think the prior bottle is more true to Fritz Haag. Now – 2015.
September 2012
Green-gold. Detailed, suave, lambent nose: slightly floral orchard and citrus fruit, basswood, devonian slate. Seemingly more verdant on day two: balsam, aloe vera. A sherbet-butter blend on the palate, rich yet scrupulous: white peach, commice pear, chantilly cream. Juicy citric cut rather than crisp acidity. An ore-like minerality. Detailed, lingering finish: lemon curd and sea salt. A Spätlese that combines generosity and finesse. Now – 2022+.
