Bruno Giacosa, Barbaresco Gallina di Neive 1985

Giacosa Barbaresco Gallina di Neive 1985

A regal garnet, fade to ochre.  Spellbinding nose of antiquity, tar and roses.  Hints of roast chestnut and toffee.  Panoramic in its dimension, its forest red berry fruit etched in sweeping arcs.  Medium-full body; less concentrated but better mannered than the Santo Stefano.  A kingly structure with a timeless balance.  Halfway between youthfulness and maturity, with an unearthly poise that leans towards stoicism: like gazing out over ancient ruins.  Now – 2025+.
