A gilded canary yellow. Sève, almost gelatinous: roasted lemon, singed hazelnut, peach kernel, acacia honey. A mighty, extrovert Champs Canet, the concentration and texture of demi glacé. Underneath, a Puligny of torque, filigree and sophistication, without the diffidence one finds in younger Carillon. Lattice-like and explicit, the acidity lending clarity and dimension to the minerality. A moving, emotive Champs-Canet; made us want to hug and kiss everyone in sight. Drink soon. Will keep very well.
