Ten years on tasting.

Bright straw with an emerald sheen. As comfortable in its skin as we recall from any of the ’04 Dauvissats. Poised, granular gooseberry and green melon fruit: less crunch, with a tilt towards lusciousness. The hyperactivity, the seething minerality, the formidable, phenolic backend of Dauvissat in its youth now fading from view. Emerging in its place is something more tranquil and ozonic. Scallopy and long. Dauvissat in the calm that comes after the storm. Now – 2019.

Adolescent straw yellow. Penetrating, lapidary, clam-shack nose: citrus and stone fruit, kombu, hedgeflower, iodine, walnut oil. Fans out ravishingly in the glass. Sweetly-savory. Impressive mid-palate swell rises up to meet you as the dense, mineral understow pulls you deep. A refined, cashmere acidity ushers you to a markedly long, oyster-shell and sencha finish. A profound ‘La Forest’. Drinking well now; à point. Now – 2019.
