Josef Leitz, Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland Riesling Spätlese Trocken Rheingau 2001

Leitz Rudesheimer Berg Rottland Spatlese Trocken 2001 #1

This is AP#14.

Primrose with a touch of emerald.  Resonant for a trocken-style: elderflower, lemon-confit, white-currant.  Sanguine fruit with a underlying, nectarine sweetness.  Vigorous, layered even: not a hint of hail taint.  Then a naked transparency, unalloyed and mineralic.  More pleasure that I would have expected, now at full-maturity.  For drinking soon.
