Domaine Gagey (Maison Louis Jadot), Savigny-lès-Beaune ‘Clos des Guettes’ Blanc 1er Cru 2007

Jadot Savigny Guettes 2007

Yellow-gold.  From a cool, hillside microclimate of chalk, stone and gravel and it shows: it’s as if he was ripened by the light of the moon.  Racy lines with deliberate skeins of citric acidity yet there is ample texture and weight to his green fruit to balance.  Lime cordial and rock salt at the end.  Lots of minerality here, penetrating if a bit four square.  It’s possible he may gain in polish so worth keeping to find out.  Now – 2017+.
