From old vine Cabernet Franc vineyards with vines planted in 1955 and 1957. About 75% of the cuvée comes from the lower parts of Les Arboises, the limestone dominated vineyards on the hill of Brézé, with the balance coming from les Motelles, on sand and gravel over clay.

Bright ruby.  What’s new is old and this bounces with the energy of the scat songs of the ’40s.  Just wonderful primary fruit, polished and high-toned: persimmon, myrtille, rose, cherry tobacco.  Tannins are plush and ripe.  Fine smoky finish in a jacket of tuffeau.  Now – 2025.
