Gérard Boulay, Sancerre Monts Damnés ‘La Comtesse’ Chavignol 2010

Imported by Free Run, Seattle WA.

Emerald and star bright. A whiff of carburant on opening. The nose curves and holds and has a wonderful harmony, not a detail out of place. The flavors run to a chalky, smoke-infused loomi and late spring, past the flowering when everything starts to leaf out. It hasn’t evolved much, and reaches out with sweet-toned appeal. Sappy like citrus oil and very long. Now – 2025+.
