Bert Simon, Serriger Würtzberg Riesling Auslese Saar (monopole) 2005

This is AP: 04 06.

Green-gold. Sourced from a steep, 75 degree slope comprised of red and blue slate, it emphasizes the abundance of fresh fruit of its vintage, notably yellow peach, durondeau pear, and rainer cherry. Balsam and wintergreen in the air, at once cooling and welcoming, with a sappy intensity right at its center. The result is exceptionally refined and alluring, texturally plush yet refreshing, finishing long on a glazed richness complimented by nut oil, ginger, orange zest, and salt. From a monopole of the Bert Simon estate. Now – 2030+.
